Ross Valley Players is having a costume sale on Oct. 17, 9 a.m.- 3 p.m., at the Barn Theater parking lot on the grounds of the Marin Art and Garden Center, 30 Sir Francis Drake Blvd., Ross. The organization will be selling costumes, tuxedos, vintage and fancy dresses and men's clothing, shoes, military uniforms, wigs, hats, handbags, scarves and other accessories. Gallery Route One presents three exhibitions available to see online anytime and in person on weekends by appointment. "Falling Open" is an exhibition of handmade artists' books, unbound books in boxes, wall-mounted books, altered books, sculpture and book-inspired objects. "Life Work" is an exhibition in honor of Andrew Romanoff's lifetime of art-making and a new series of watercolor paintings by Bernie Schimbke. October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.  Center for Domestic Peace (C4DP) and yoga teachers and studios around Marin County will hold a simultaneous yoga session on Oct. 24, 9:30-10:30 a.m., in universal support of survivors of domestic violence. North Marin Community Services is hosting "Thriller Thursday," a free, online event on Oct. 29, 5-6:15 p.m. join special guest State Sen. Mike McGuire and others  to hear powerful client stories and help more people in need through the organization's expanded Emergency Rental Assistance Program, the weekly Food Pantry, mental health services and other critical programs that help community members in Marin. A Season of Good taste, a virtual live stream event with Chef Michael Mina, will take place on Nov. 13, 5 p.m., to benefit  PNOC Foundation, the Pediatric Neuro-Oncology Consortium Foundation. Emmy Award winning radio and TV personality Liam Mayclem will host the festivities. Enjoy cocktail cheer with a cocktail aficionado sharing his favorite recipe. In observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Jan. 18, and wishing to bring forth MLK's message of freedom, equity, justice and love, CVNL is coordinating a community project with the goal of giving 500 North Bay children and youth the gift of books to nourish their minds and the gift of snacks to nourish their bodies. Buckelew Programs is offering a Suicide Prevention Hotline training class that starts on Jan.19, with registration required by Jan. 17. The class will be conducted via Zoom.
