Point Reyes National Seashore

Volunteers are welcome to help park staff in a variety of positions at Point Reyes National Seashore. Volunteers help restore critical habitat, catalogue artifacts for the park's museum, repair trails and assist with office tasks. Marin County

Marin residents with an interest in horticulture and a desire to share what they’ve learned through the community outreach projects may apply to the Master Gardener Training Program. In addition to completing the Master Gardener Training Program and its requirements, first year Marin Master Gardeners are required to complete at least 50 hours of program-sponsored volunteer service and 12 hours of appropriate continuing education in the first year after graduation. Make a difference in a child’s life by volunteering to assist new readers build their skills and confidence. Volunteers encourage new readers to engage with library books at a new level by assisting with pronunciation, helping with difficult words, introducing new words, posing and answering questions to increase comprehension and general concepts.  Volunteers read with children at the Pickleweed Library for 1 hour per week on Tuesday evenings. Project Awareness and Special Sports (PAASS) facilitates programs for individuals with developmental delays and learning challenges. This requires the support of many volunteers in a variety of positions. Most sports programs take place on Sundays. Special events will be announced in advance. Sanzuma runs organic farms that provide organic produce for public schools lunch programs in San Rafael and Novato. Buckelew Programs is offering a Suicide Prevention Hotline training class that starts on Jan.19, with registration required by Jan. 17. The class will be conducted via Zoom.
