PROMOTING HEALTH AND ART

Marin Community Clinics’ June 24 annual solstice fundraiser brought in $240,000 to support the organization’s COVID-19 response programs. The virtual event celebration with 160 online participants honored Dr. Matt Willis, Marin County’s public health officer; Dr. Timothy Sowerby, a gastroenterologist and longtime volunteer; and, Melissa Osheroff, a student volunteer. The San Anselmo Arts Commission sponsored the PaintBox Utility Box Public Art Project. The winning artists received an honorarium and painting supplies to complete their vision on one of the local utility boxes. Pictured are two of the winning entries: “San Anselmo and Stripes” by Dara Matson (above, top) and “Sunday Ride” by Conor Buckley.  -Photos courtesy of San Anselmo Arts Commission
