BIG FALL FUNDRAISERS HELD

North Marin Community Services (NMCS) raised over $219,000 at its 17th annual Halloween fundraiser on Oct. 21. The “Back to the Future” themed virtual event included a live Fund-a-Need hosted by Sen. Mike McGuire, D-Healdsburg; a special message from Benita McLarin, director, Department of Health and Human Services for Marin County; and a DeLorean. Funds raised will support mental health and case management services. The lead sponsor for the event was Sutter Health. A $75,000 matching donation from Redwood Credit Union, Jim Duckworth and Roberta Dixon, and Sandro and Jeannie Sangiacomo doubled gifts made during the event. Through the generosity of sponsors and guests, $109,000 (net) was raised in support of Huckleberry’s essential programs providing access to safety, health, justice and education for thousands of San Francisco and Marin County youth each year. Guests enjoyed food by San Rafael’s Il Davide, golf and bocce ball.
