Friends of Larkspur Library will host “Touch Trucks” at Redwood High School on Sunday, May 22. The event, which will benefit The Commons Foundation, will offer kids of all ages the opportunity to see and experience trucks of all kinds, including a fire truck, a garbage truck and more. Tickets go on sale April 15.
The Commons Foundation, whose mission is to fund, build and sustain a new library in concert with the City of Larkspur, is already more than halfway toward its fundraising goal of $5 million. The project is located on a 2.4 acre city-owned property at Doherty Drive and Rose Lane that will include a modern library, public square and community center, to be built in three phases. The Commons Library will integrate indoor and outdoor spaces with flexible configurations so it can adapt to the demand at different times of the day and provide space for a variety of programs.
