HALLECK CREEK WELCOMES NEW THERAPY HORSE

Halleck Creek Ranch has added a new horse to its herd. Frank, a 13-year-old quarter horse, is a former ranch horse from Barboni Ranch in Petaluma. Because Frank has asthma and must be ridden gently, he was no longer suitable for cattle work.

“Every morning someone always walks over to Frank’s stall to say good morning, taking a moment to start their day with him. As our newest member of the team he has charmed every volunteer, becoming a fan favorite with his inquisitive personality and always looking for some pats and love,” said Taylor Jones, a Halleck Creek instructor.

Halleck Creek Ranch is home to 18 horses.  All but one, who was born at the ranch in 1997 and hand-raised and trained to become a  therapy horse, have been donated to the program. Each one brings experience in various areas, accommodating the specific needs of the participants. For more information, visit halleckcreekranch.org.
