NOVATOSPIRIT ANNOUNCES FINAL YEAR

Recently the Board of Directors of NovatoSpirit, a Novato-based nonprofit that has provided athletic scholarships to children with financial needs for 18 years, voted unanimously to continue serving the community’s children one final year, until June 30, 2023. To maximize funding, the administrative office will cease operations on Dec. 31.

This past year, NovatoSpirit served 35 Novato kids, ages 7 to 18 who live at or below 200% of the federal poverty level. Scholarships included martial arts, horse therapy and dance.

“I haven’t hung up my cowboy hat yet and plan to continue volunteering and outreach to Marin and Sonoma low-income families through Hooves for Harmony and Morning Star Vaulters,” said Marian Huntington, founder and executive director at NovatoSpirit.
