MILAGRO GRANTS $100K TO MARIN NONPROFITS

The Milagro Foundation is a publicly supported foundation established by musician Carlos Santana and his family in 1998. Milagro benefits under-resourced children around the world by making grants to community based tax-exempt organizations that work with children in the areas of education, health and the arts.

Since 1998, Santana’s Milagro Foundation has donated over $9.5 million to nonprofit agencies. Foundation funding comes from Santana concert tickets, Santana licensed products and corporate and private donors.

At a recent board meeting, Milagro funded a number of Marin nonprofits:

  • Canal Alliance food pantry in San Rafael: $20,000
  • Conscious Kitchen, serving children in Marin City and Richmond: $20,000
  • Project Avary, supporting children with incarcerated parents: $20,000
  • Horizon Community School, a preschool in Marin City:  $20,000.

In addition, Milagro began a partnership with 10,000 Degrees in 2019 to create the Santana Scholars project. Eleven local Santana Scholars have been provided with scholarship support for four years of college tuition and most have been the first in their family to attend college.
