Huckleberry Youth’s Marin County health education team was selected to present at the National School-Based Health Care Conference hosted by the School-Based Health Alliance in Washington, D.C.
Their workshop, “Fostering Inclusive Care: Centering Queer Youth in Sexual and Reproductive Health,” was attended by more than 50 participants including program administrators, health care professionals, and policy and youth leaders. With a focus on addressing the needs of queer youth within health care settings, the workshop provided insights and practical strategies for health educators, clinic staff And health care practitioners.
“Huckleberry Youth Programs’ Marin health education team has long supported comprehensive, equitable and inclusive health education for Marin County’s youth. We are proud to have contributed to the National School-Based Health Care Conference’s mission of advancing health equity and fostering partnerships across diverse communities,” said Priscilla Miranda, Huckleberry’s director of Marin programs.
The team applied to participate and their workshop was selected under the “Innovations” category, highlighting its approach to enhancing health care accessibility and quality for queer youth.
