School serves autistic and neurodivergent students in Marin The Helix School, a specialized independent school and California-certified nonpublic school serving autistic and neurodivergent students in Marin County, has named Dr. Evangelia “Angel” Ward-Jackson as interim executive director for the 2026-27 school year. Ward-Jackson will work with the school’s board, founder, faculty, clinicians, staff and families to strengthen organizational systems, deepen the school’s educational model and advance a shared vision for the future of The Helix School community. Ward-Jackson’s appointment comes at a time of growing national attention to neurodiversity-affirming education and to the need for educational environments capable of responding to students whose strengths and learning needs may not be adequately served in traditional settings.
“What moved me immediately about Helix is the profound belief that our students should never be defined by assumptions about what they can or cannot do,” Ward-Jackson said. “Our responsibility as educators is to presume potential, remain curious about how each student learns and create the conditions in which they can develop agency, connection and a meaningful life. I am honored to join this extraordinary community and excited to build upon Helix’s strong foundation alongside our students, families, educators, clinicians, board
