More than 50 volunteers from the four Rotary clubs in Novato packed over 10,000 bags of food for Rise Against Hunger, an international hunger relief nonprofit organization that coordinates the packaging and distribution of food and other aid to people in developing nations.
Working as a team at Druid Hall in Novato on Aug. 22, the Rotary clubs of Novato, Ignacio, Novato Sunrise and Novato Evening set up workstations, measured, packed the bags, sealed, boxed and prepared for shipment to communities in need. Each bag provides six meals
and will start their journey to provide nourishment.
“This project shows how impactful volunteerism can be when all four clubs work together to help others in need and try to end hunger,” said event organizer Susan Royce, a member of the Rotary Club of Novato Sunrise.
