The Rotary Club of Ignacio celebrated its 50th anniversary on April 11 at Marin Country Club in Novato. First chartered in 1976 with 10 original members, the club now enjoys 51 members, with a large number in attendance for the celebration.
Special highlights included two of the original charter members in attendance, Dennis McQuaid and Rick Seawell, plus the original Rotary Club of Ignacio Charter. Other guests included Supervisor Eric Lucan of Novato, Rotary District 5150 Governor Mitone Griffiths, and several past district governors and club presidents.
A video was presented featuring interviews with over 20 living presidents of the club.
“It was a wonderful and meaningful celebration, especially having been recently honored as Best Large Club in District 5150,” said Charley Vogt, club president.
Rotary District 5150 includes Marin, San Francisco and San Mateo counties.
