Ritter Center’s annual signature fundraiser, Under the Stars, raised over $200,000 to support vital services for Marin County’s most vulnerable residents. The event took place April 30 at The Clubhouse at Peacock Gap in San Rafael. The funds will directly support Ritter Center’s comprehensive services for individuals experiencing homelessness and economic instability in Marin County.
“We are overwhelmed by the generosity shown at this year’s Under the Stars,” said Mark Shotwell, CEO of Ritter Center. “These funds will directly impact our ability to provide essential medical care, mental health services and housing support to those who need it most.”
The evening featured an outdoor reception, seated dinner, live auction, fund-a- need and recognition of the following honorees
● Shining Star Honoree: Mary Sackett, Marin County supervisor, District 1, for her commitment to addressing homelessness and expanding supportive services across Marin.
● Community Impact Honoree: Rachel Kertz, San Rafael City Council, District 4, for her community-first approach to housing, health and safety.
● Beacon of Hope Honoree: Mario Ernesto Lopez, Community Advocate, Marin Community Foundation, whose personal connection to Ritter Center and lifelong commitment to equity make him a beacon for the Canal and West Marin communities.
● Corporate Impact Honoree: Anthem Blue Cross Foundation, for their investment in integrated mental health, substance use and harm reduction services for people facing barriers to care.
The funds will support Ritter Center’s medical and behavioral health care, case management, housing support and food assistance programs for individuals and families experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
