Annual free lifesaving skills event scheduled at multiple locations
The annual Marin County Sidewalk CPR event will return for the 15th year on Aug. 15. At this free event, the public can learn essential lifesaving skills to use in emergency situations.
“It only takes a few minutes to learn how to save a life,” said Christian Lombard, EMS specialist with Marin County. “Building a community of people who know what to do in an emergency can help keep a neighbor, friend or loved one alive.”
Organized by Marin County Health and Human Services and the Marin County EMS Agency, in collaboration with fire agencies, hospitals and community emergency response partners across the county, this countywide event equips residents with the skills to step in and save lives during emergencies.
Sidewalk CPR will take place on Saturday, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at 13 outdoor locations across Marin County. In just a few minutes, participants of all ages will receive training in:
● Hands-only CPR – manual technique proven to aid in survival until medical help arrives
● Automated external defibrillator use – a device that helps get the heart back in rhythm
● Stop the bleed – techniques that can help stop excessive bleedings
● Naloxone administration – nasal spray that can quickly and safely reverse the effects of an opioid overdose.

● Larkspur Landing, Marin Country Mart
● Marin City, Target
● Mill Valley, The Depot
● Muir Beach, parking lot
● Novato, Vintage Oaks Shopping Center (near Target)
● Point Reyes Station, Toby’s Feed Barn
● San Rafael, Montecito Plaza
● Sausalito, Ferry Terminal
● Stinson Beach, Village Green
● Tiburon, Angel Island Ferry Terminal.
