CEO Cheryl Paddack to depart human services nonprofit
For 54 years, North Marin Community Services has been an anchor human services nonprofit in Marin County, providing services and strengthening families. The organization’s Board of Directors announced Sept. 4 that after nearly 18 years
of service as CEO, Cheryl Paddack will depart.
During Paddack’s tenure, NMCS has experienced growth and transformation. The organization’s operating budget has grown from $1.2 million
to more than $10 million, expanding capacity to serve the community and ensuring that tens of thousands of people have received essential services and support. Paddack has led NMCS through four significant
chapters in its history: the Great Recession, the organization’s pivotal merger of the Novato Youth Center and the Human
Needs Center, the COVID-19 pandemic, and the post- pandemic recovery and renewal.
“I am incredibly proud of my 171⁄2 years at NMCS, and of the four chapters we have shared,” Paddack said. “I am proud of how NMCS has grown and of the difference that growth has made in the lives of tens of thousands of people. NMCS is in a position of strength, with an exceptional team, strong community partnerships and a clear commitment to the future. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to have served this organization, and I am honored to support the board in identifying and welcoming NMCS’s next CEO as the organization begins its new chapter.”
Paddack will remain in her role as CEO throughout the leadership transition and search process.
