Library, health outreach go to West Marin
West Marin’s rural and coastal communities are spread across a large and geographically diverse region, making access to services a challenge for some residents. Two new Marin County mobile vehicles will help bring library resources and Health and Human Services support closer to residents.
Together, the BiblioCoaster and HHS mobile outreach vehicle mark a step toward bringing more county services and resources directly to West Marin communities.
“The BiblioCoaster and HHS’s new mobile outreach vehicle will help bring important resources and support closer to West Marin residents. By connecting people with library services, public benefits and help navigating resources, these vehicles are a practical way to meet communities where they are and respond to the region’s distinct needs,” said District 4 Supervisor Dennis Rodoni.
The Marin County Free Library’s BiblioCoaster will bring books, technology, programs and learning opportunities to communities across West Marin. The Department of Health and Human Services’ mobile outreach vehicle will help residents connect with public benefits — including Medi-Cal, CalFresh, CalWORKs and general relief — and navigate other available resources. The HHS mobile vehicle will visit all communities in West Marin and collaborate with schools, medical clinics community centers and local businesses to set up regular availability via appointments or drop-in sessions.
